PNG. I was there for 26 years, but left almost 25 years ago. There is a danger in harking back to what was and not what now is. That is why I now longer offer to do deputation for ABM.

so enjoying getting to know the Western Australia tertiaries and meeting Br Alfred twice has been an added bonus. I appreciate all that goes on in the background; the hard work, study, journeying and prayer of all. I very much appreciate too those tertiaries with whom I began my Franciscan journey, in South Africa, and miss them greatly. Love joy and peace in the Holy Spirit, Sandie tssf

Dear David
Many thanks for your comment. The Order is well served by Chapter and Ministers and other officers. It's great to be a part of it.

Brother Alfred is staying with us at the moment and spending in all two weeks in Western Australia. We appreciate the contact with the First Order, and Br Alfred and I were talking about this issue only yesterday. In principle, I think Tertiaries and Brothers would like more communication, but with an aging Tertiary group, attending meetings a long way from home is becoming more difficult. THe NSW-A Tertiaries hold their retreat at Stroud and often see the BRothers in the local churches. THe rest of us don't have this opportunity so often, sadly.

As for prayer, I am always impressed when I stay with the Brothers at Stroud and Brisbane that they use the Third ORder PRayer List and pray for us by name every day. I use the First ORder prayer list that Brother Christopher John puts out every three months. It's worth getting hold of it.

Blessings to you too,

Ted

Dear Ted,
What a grand report, covering so much ground and so informative. Thank you for all the hours and energy both you the Chapter and the Regoinal Ministers continue to commit. Your Easter Hymn with "the whistling of the fife " has been sung the last four Sundays while I have looked after the parish. Fr. Malcolm returns on the 2nd June and I'll gladley hand over. I have a difficult funeral this afternoon at 2.30.
I would appreciate a little more regular prayer and communication for our
1st Order as my introduction to tssf came through Brothers Brian and Anthony who spent a week in mission in our parish ten years before I became a novice. With blessings of peace and joy, David

My dear fellow priest,
I wonder how many of us in Orders, introduce their 'flocks' to the Third Order.I am always on the look out for potential members.
I regret that getting older inhibits ones movements. But we use our Manuals to keep in touch by the invisible cords of intercession.I quite often quote from our various 'readings' in weekly pamphlets and sermons.
I appreciate your own kind attention to individual members. This is essential because initial interest is soon lost if we don't feed interest.
With love Robert

Dear Ted.,
It really was a long read, but I am pleased I pushed on. I loved your example of French Knitting bringing back memories of long ago.
There are always pluses and minuses when there is change and the web is no different. I find it wastes a lot of time which I could give to someone else, but it also informs such as your report. Thank you for keeping me in touch. God's blessings, Betty
